who we are

A journey of passion and commitment

Letcetra Agritech began in late 2016, when engineers with diverse backgrounds, united by their love for healthy growing and food, invested time, effort and money in understanding the nuances of hydroponics, and concentrated on getting the best available knowledge, to ensure food production remains easy and accessible for everyone.

the best of professionals

Ajay Naik

Co-founder & CEO

B.E (Computer Science and Engineering), Bangalore, India.
10+ years of IT experience in various fields like healthcare, games, mobile apps, artificial intelligence etc.

Ajay has always been passionate about two things in life, technology and food. In 2011, he left a settled IT job and started his own software company. After selling that company in 2016, he shifted his professional attention to food. Up to that point, he had been happy savoring different cuisines in Goa, a tourist destination offering a wide variety of cuisines – but over time, he noticed deterioration in the quality of veggies and other ingredients being used to make his favorite delicacies. Additionally, he had lost a loved one to cancer some years back, and cancer being a lifestyle-related disease, he began to ponder what he might do about this problem.

He researched how to grow better, healthier food without pesticides using fewer resources compared to conventional farming, and that’s how the seeds of Letcetra Agritech - India’s first vertical hydroponics farm - were sown. He founded Letcetra out of a passionate commitment to developing innovative and sustainable products/solutions to benefit farmers, consumers, and our planet. Ajay firmly believes he must be a harbinger of the change he wishes to see, and through hydroponics farming, he has driven change in last two years, which is quite evident from the wide media coverage.

Ajay plans to continue building the agricultural revolution across India and other developing countries. To this end, he has meticulously built a team of technologists and experts with whom he is slowly expanding the reach of innovative farming practices to deliver consistent and reliable yields of healthier and more nutritious vegetables.

Harish Usgaonker

CTO

M.Sc. Information Technology – Goa University, Goa, India.
13+ years of IT experience, 1.5 years of experience as tech consultant for start-ups

Harish’s love for technology blossomed when he was introduced to a computer in lower school. After graduating in Chemistry, he switched to formal technology education and completed his Masters of Science (Information Technology) at Goa University. While perusing his masters, he was fascinated by compiler design and experimented with coding and data structures.

Harish has worked in NE Technologies and Persistent Systems in various domains from telecom and e-governance to cloud and integration. He has worked on web technology projects built in Java and J2EE, frameworks like Struts, JSF and JPA with ReST-based webservices. He re-skilled from Java to Node.js and modern javascript technologies (Mean Stack) while working on a project with IBM during his stint with Persistent. He has also worked on projects with Agile and Scrum methodology of software development.

Love for startups and innovation was always lingering in his mind though, and after a few years of being a “reluctant entrepreneur”, he finally decided to embrace a role as a technology consultant to startups, which led him to his current position as CTO of Letcetra.

Harish is currently driving the product development of Letcetra's ambitious digital platform for Urban Farming and Agri-tech services - "Agcetra".
